Orion Lecture Series

Our venue (since May 2011) is the historic Grove Theater at 123 Randolph Road, Oak Ridge, TN. We meet at 7:00 PM (1900 hours) on the first Wednesday of each month.

Our business meetings are short and conducted after the program, and we may feature mini-presentations on astronomy-related topics as time allows, too. Traditionally, we reconvene at a local restaurant immediately after the meeting.

Directions to the historic Grove Theater of Oak Ridge from Knoxville:

* Take Pellissippi Parkway (or Oak Ridge Highway) toward Oak Ridge; this becomes US-162
* Cross the bridge in Solway and stay on US-162
* US-162 turns into Illinois Avenue
* Take Illinois Avenue all the way into the middle of Oak Ridge
* Turn right at the traffic light onto Oak Ridge Turnpike (US 95N)
* Turn left at next traffic light onto Robertsville Road
* Come up the hill until you see the big swimming pool on your right; turn left on Randolph Road into the Grove Center
* Drive a block or two; the parking lot road curves sharply to the right. This is where the Grove Theater is
* Inside that large building on the right (123 Randolph Road), walk through the glass doors, snake left then right into the cozy reception area, enjoy coffee and cookies (when available), then proceed to the smaller theater to the left of the large one.
